Autobiography Video Project

Detailed Scene Outline

Scene #1:

c

Purpose:

Alonzo arrives to school at the High School Drop-Off. Car enters the scene and Alonzo exits from the car. The shot is from the back, showing the car at first before it exits and shows the title of the project with Alonzo’s back to the audience. Alonzo stands there for a few seconds with a close-up shot on Alonzo’s face before a flashback to his first day of school when he first arrived to the drop-off.

Scene #2:

b

Purpose:

Alonzo goes up the stairs. Continue shots of Alonzo preceding up the stairs. As he goes up the stairs, he has another flashback of when he first went up the stairs and got extremely tired, beginning to crawl up the stairs.

Scene #3:

a

Purpose:

Alonzo comes to his locker where he opens the locker. The shot is first behind him and when he opens the locker, the shot is from inside the locker, showing him going through his stuff before another flashback. His flashback is when he first opens the locker and is struggling to open the locker. In the end, he ends up falling up after opening the locker.

Scene #4:

Purpose:

Tracking shot of Alonzo walking into classroom. There is a shot of the classroom, followed by a flashback where Alonzo sits down in the corner and attempts to play the guitar. Then we go back to the present where we see Alonzo actually playing the guitar. This is the idea that Alonzo gets for the film.

Scene #5:

Purpose:

Another tracking shot of Alonzo running/sprinting to the classroom, anxious. He immediately enters with Mr. Biggar saying, “We’re going to start on the project today!” then Alonzo runs to his classmates and says enthusiastically, “I have an idea!”

Notes from Meetings

In fear of unable to bring out a climax or a nice conclusion to the project, we decided to twist a few things of the project.

In the beginning, Alonzo will be dropped off to school and heads to his locker then to his class. Along the way to his class from where he was dropped off, he will constantly flashback of the various moments he had along the places; the stairs, the lockers and where he was dropped off to relate what happened on the very first day he came to ISM.

After the constant flashbacking of the stairs, the lockers and where he was dropped off, he will go to class where Mr. Biggar will introduce a project about a student’s past or a student’s favorite memory.

Interested and desperately attempting to make the project successful, Alonzo begins to flashback and settles in one memory; the memory when he first came to ISM. He begins to write and loudly says that in the future, if a project like this would ever come by again, he would do the project upon the memory when he had a project of his past and constantly flashbacked.

The conclusion will be a secret because it hasn’t ended at that point. The conflict mainly revolves around attempting to find a good memory for his project. Of course, there will be struggles when he attempts to settle for a good memory for the project. He won’t simply choose the time he entered ISM.

We haven’t finished the storyboard since today, someone forgot the camera. But overall, we were able to clearly discuss what will be happening in the video since some details were left out in the beginning. We are going to be prepared next time and finish the pictures for the storyboard and the detailed scene outline.

Autobiography Video Project

As one of the projects, the autobiographic video will be produced by myself, Peter, Agustin and Alonzo. The video will be mainly based on Alonzo’s life. We all divided certain jobs within the group for the project so each would be able to do something helpful during the making of the video. The Cinematographer will be Peter, the Editor will be Agustin, the Director will be Alonzo and I will be the Sound Manager.

Since the autobiographic video is based on Alonzo’s life, most of it will revolve around small tidbits of his childhood–we’ll present those scenes with pictures. Some scenes will be presented through flashbacks consisting Alonzo in smaller clothes to carry out the understanding of him in his younger self. The video will introduce him as a character and show important scenes such as him first entering I.S.M. and some parts of the video will introduce his dislikes and likes, trying to show his personality. By showing his personality or his dislikes and likes, we’ll shoot some scenes in which shows his dislikes or likes. For example; he likes to play the guitar–we’ll show a scene of him playing a guitar. Throughout the video, we might have voiceover’s but not completely throughout the autobiographic video.

As a person who manages sound throughout the video, I’m planning on natural background sounds during mots of the flashbacks. For example; if he is playing soccer, the sound of natural silence or sometimes, the crunch of the grass makes the whole scene seem somewhat refreshing especially with the surrounding. As another idea, I plan on adding music during the exposition. Something bright although not too eager or fast. Songs that are slow but bright–a certain style like the film, Juno. The music of Juno was somewhat contemplating but bright and slow, it gave off a fun vibe but it was consisting the calmness within the music. I plan on using some songs from Juno because it seems that Juno might fit the theme of the autobiographic video.

Great idea Stephanie, though it wasn’t a formal requirement (Don’t panic Augustin). You’ll find it very easy to reflect on the process you undertook.
